Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Governor of Punjab Rafique Rajwana held a meeting here on Tuesday to discuss matters of mutual interest, and the law and order situation and development projects in Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the federal and provincial governments had selflessly served the public during the last four years and given top priority to relieve the public from frustration caused by institutional decay. He said that the government was giving equal importance to the development of rural and urban areas and that development projects worth billions of rupees were currently in progress in the province.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the government had promoted transparency, top quality, speed in the completion of its development projects. He said the government had given special importance to development projects in south Punjab and that billions of rupees had been spent on the development of south Punjab to speed up its progress, adding that the government was taking effective measures for the protection of life and property of the people.
He said all projects were being completed in the record time and with top quality and total transparency, which was why the policies of the government were being admired in Pakistan and the world over. He said that historic efforts for transparency, honesty, and hard work were being made for the completion of the development projects. He said that the Sahiwal Coal Power Project was about to be completed and projects of such large capacity could not be completed in such short times even in China. He said that with the completion of the project, 1320MWs of electricity would be added to the national grid, which will play a vital role in the elimination of load-shedding from the country.
The governor said that the Punjab government had taken effective measures for the protection of life and property of the people, and that the speedy completion of projects showed the extraordinary capabilities of the provincial and federal governments to serve the public through the development projects.
