KARACHI: Iraqi Ambassador Dr Ali Al-Rehmani called on Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Building on Tuesday.
Municipal Commissioner Hanif Muhammad Mirchiwala, former MNA Farhat Hussain, Municipal Services Senior Director Masood Alam, Financial Advisor Khalid Mehmood Shaikh and other officers were also present on this occasion.
Trade relations and investment opportunities in Pakistan especially in Sindh province and Karachi came under discussion during the meeting, said a statement.
The Iraqi ambassador appreciated the efforts of the mayor for providing better municipal facilities to citizens.
Wasim Akhtar said that Pakistan and Iraq had always peaceful ties. Trade relations between Pakistan and Iraq should be further strengthened, the mayor added.
The mayor welcomed the Iraq investment in the region.
Akhtar presented a shield to the Iraqi ambassador on the occasion.
