Altaf Bawany takes charge as Karachi NAB DG

KARACHI: Altaf Bawany on Tuesday assumed the charge as the Karachi National Accountability Bureau (NAB) director general.

Addressing officials of the bureau after taking the charge, he said that the NAB would work to its full capacity, under the leadership of NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry to eradicate corruption from the society by adopting a zero-tolerance policy.

He directed all the NAB officials to perform their duties professionally as the eradication of corruption is their national duty.

Bawany said that the NAB is an apex anti-corruption agency which has been assigned the responsibility to recover looted money from corrupt and deposit it in the national exchequer.

The NAB DG further said the NAB has chalked out a holistic and comprehensive three-pronged strategy of enforcement, awareness and prevention which has been very successful.
