Why are we still using polythene bags?

Through your newspaper I want to draw the attention of the Sindh government towards the detriment caused through Polythene bags which are being used. Polythene bags are really harmful – not only for the human beings but also for other living things. It is not only the duty of science student to know all the harm of the things which are responsible for bad health – the Government has its responsibility too. The Government should also be aware of these small things which can be ruinous in a large aspect.

If plastic is just dumped in the soil it causes harm to plant life, as its toxic substances get blocked among the soil particles. It also threatens lives inside the water. The chemicals also affect the survival of sea animals and plants. Polythene is also likely to clog the drains causing problems in water flow in pipes which causes flooding and all the rough stuff.

Poly bags are causing adverse effects to the human health. And if these bags burnt in open air they will cause air pollution and many toxic chemicals will spread in the form of vapors.

I am extremely glad to see that Balochistan Assembly is taking great action to deal with this ruinous thing. And I request the Sindh government to take action too.
