Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Monday has demanded the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on human rights violation to launch action over Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.

During a joint press conference with OIC Secretary General Dr Yousaf Ahmad Al-Othaimeen in Islamabad, Sartaj Aziz thanked the OIC and the Muslim countries for their consistent support on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

Denouncing the ongoing violence in occupied Kashmir, the OIC has said that it is in full agreement with Pakistan over the peaceful resolution of the longstanding dispute.

The statement came as four more Kashmiri youths were killed while 200 injured in clashes with Indian’s forces on Monday, bringing the number of recent deaths in the occupied territory to 12. An escalation in the tense situation of the valley has been witnessed as by-elections are underway in the Srinagar constituency.

Replying to a question, he said the OIC has been urging India to provide access to Occupied Kashmir but unfortunately India has declined to accede to the request. He said India also opposed despatch of an OIC Human Rights Commission to Occupied Kashmir.

“Despite denial by India, we should keep the pressure on New Delhi on the issue of human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir and peaceful resolution of the dispute,” he added.

Dr Othaimeen thanked Pakistan for supporting programs and caused espoused by OIC and said the two sides discussed holding of the upcoming summit of OIC on Science and Technology.

Condemning all terrorist acts in Pakistan or any other country, He said that terrorism has no race or religion and that Islam is a religion of peace and co-existence.

About conflict in Syria, Secretary-General said it has two dimensions – political and humanitarian. He said that OIC wants a political solution to the problem and mobilising support for refugees to alleviate their sufferings.

The OIC secretary general said they condemn all terrorist acts, either in Pakistan or any other country. Terrorism, he added, has no race or religion, adding that Islam is the religion of peace and co-existence.

Aziz thanked the OIC and the Muslim countries for their consistent support on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.
