Amjad Sabri’s family to leave Pakistan over life threats

KARACHI: The family of slain qawwal Amjad Sabri on Monday has decided to leave Pakistan over security fears.

Amjad’s brother Azmat Sabri said that the family was feeling scared and their lives are at stake following the murder of his brother.

He revealed that the family will apply for a British visa through ex-Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and will appeal the government to pay for the travel expenses.

Amjad Sabri was shot dead in Karachi’s Liaquatabad area on 22 June 2016 after unknown gunmen opened fire on his car. The attack left the country in grief and shock.
