  • JUI-F leader says politicians calling each other thief or corrupt not a dignified way of politics

Jamait Ulema-e-Islam-F Fazlur Rehman on Sunday said that his party advocates for national unity, sect-free politics based on non-violence policy and will not allow anyone to sabotage atmosphere of interfaith harmony in Pakistan.

Addressing a public gathering at the concluding ceremony of the three-day centenary celebrations of his party here at Azakhel, he said that this historic congregation had passed the message of hope and peace in the world and would remove a sense of deprivation among the masses.

Fazl said that Islam, being the religion of peace, had no place for terrorism, extremism and his party would continue peaceful struggle in line with vision of forefathers for attainment of their goals. “Islam is the religion of peace and love and peace could only be established by strictly following the teaching of Holy Quran and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in a true spirit,” he said.

Fazl said that Islam was most popular religion of the world, which could lead humanity towards lasting achievement of peace and harmony. “Peace in world can’t be established unless we give rights to people on their resources, economic empowerment, social justice, ending deprivation of marginalised communities, poverty, hunger and speedy justice to all,” he said.

He suggested bilateral agreements for exploration of mineral resources, adaptation of technological skills and enhancement of diplomatic relations with developed countries based on mutual respect. “Politicians calling each other thief or corrupt was not a dignified way of politics,” he said. After coming into power, the JUI-F would eliminate corruption and ensure good governance as they had shown during its regime in the past, he said.

Fazl pointed out Muslims subjected to brutal torture were being killed in Syria, Iraq, Libya, Kashmir and Yemen. Despite huge resources, the world powers had failed to establish peace in these regions. “The world should understand that whether we should give peaceful or blood tinted future to the world.”

After the creation of UN, people had pinned expectations from the world body for solutions of core issues but the issue of Palestine had not been addressed nor Kashmir which created disappointment in the world, he said, adding that the world power had failed to establish peace in Afghanistan and lasting peace in this war-torn country could only be established with withdrawal of all foreign troops from there.

In Afghanistan, peace could only be established through political means and negotiations with all the stakeholders on board, he said. Fazl said that JUI-F desired peaceful settlement of all issues with neighbours including India through table talks. He said that every Pakistani had immeasurable love with Haramain Sharifain and would give every sacrifice for its protection.

Fazl said that China was time-tested friend and his party supported tehe mega China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as it would change destiny of people in the region. “Any decision about future of FATA should be made in line with wishes and aspirations of tribal people,” he told the gathering.
