Swansea University expresses interest in Lahore Knowledge Park

A delegation of Britain’s Swansea University (SU) called Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Saturday.

The British delegation was headed by SU’s Head of Business School Prof Marc Clement. The SU showed interest in setting up it’s a sub-campus of it’s at the Lahore Knowledge Park.

Speaking with the delegation, Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the Lahore Knowledge Park Project was a milestone in youth empowerment. The interest shown by international universities to open their campuses in this project is a welcome step, he said.

He observed that investment in education was an investment for the bright future of Pakistan. Directing the constitution of an experts’ committee, the chief minister said that the committee would submit its report about the establishment of various sectors in the Lahore Knowledge Park.

Provincial Minister for Higher Education Syed Raza Ali Gillani, Lahore Knowledge Park Company Chairman Lt Gen (r) Muhammad Akram, and other concerned officials were also present during the meeting. The planning and development chairman participated in the meeting through a video link.
