The Punjab University’s disciplinary committee has disqualified Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N)’s former MPA Shumaila Rana for one year after investigations against her.
Shumaila Rana had written her telephone number, home address, and designation in the answer book for her LLB part one examination, asking the examiner to contact her, prompting the disciplinary committee’s investigation.
She was called before the committee to defend herself but failed to do so. After completing their inquiry against Shumaila Rana, the committee disqualified her for one year for attempting to pass her LLB part one examination through illicit means.
The former MPA appealed to the PU’s vice chancellor as well but the appeal was rejected by the disciplinary committee.
Shumaila Rana was elected as an MPA from Lahore through the PML-N in 2008 and remained an MPA till 2013.
