An association of the beat reporters of Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has been formed with an aim to resolve the issues being faced by the reporters on war-footing basis.
The first meeting of the association, Capital Reporter Association (CRA) was held here at National Press Club Islamabad on Friday in which around 30 reporters from various print and electronic outlets participated.
During the meeting, it was unanimously decided to appoint Rana Ghulam Qadir (Daily Jang) as it’s Patron-in-Chief and Kashif Abbasi (Daily Dawn) as CRA Chairman. Haider Naseem (Express TV), Kashif Rafique (News One), Shakil Qarar (Dawn TV) and Zama Mughal (Daily Ausaf) have been appointed as members of disciplinary committee.
Waqar Abbasi (Daily Nawa-i-Waqt) appointed as President, Raja Kashif Ishfaq (Daily 92) as General Secretary, Amir Abbasi (Dunya TV) Finance Secretary, Muhammad Anwar Raza (92 News) Senior Vice President, Tahir Niaz (The Nation) Vice President, Asad Chaudhary (Daily Times) Senior joint Secretary, Faizan Khan (Samaa TV) Joint Secretary, Farid Sabri (Pakistan Today) Information Secretary, and Shehzad Anwar (The Express Tribune) as Office Secretary.
Whereas, Nauman Maqsood (NEO TV), Waleed Chaudhary (24 News), Mehtab Bashir (Daily Dunya), Muhammad Anas (Capital TV), Muhammad Anees (The News), Hassan Khan (Online News Agency), Noshi Rahim (daily Jehan-e-Pakistan), Anwar Abbasi (Roze TV), Asif naveed (Aaj News) and Luqman Shah (daily Azkar) was appointed as member governing body.
It was decided that the issues which face by the officials of civic body, i.e. CDA, MCI can register their complaint against any reporter with the competent authority, CRA for further disciplinary actions. And reporters were also told not to be personal with any official of CDA, MCI regarding any issue.
