PATTOKI: A van collided with a bus at Naimat Chowk on Multan Road in Pattoki on Wednesday in the early hours of Wednesday, killing four people on the spot and wounding at least six others.
The deceased were members of the same family and were on their way to Chistian from Lahore. Women and children were also among the injured.
Police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the injured to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
Road accidents are commonplace in Pakistan which ranks 48th in the world in that regard. lack of respect for traffic rules, reckless driving, poor road infrastructure and lack of safety precautions add to the alarming situation.
