Ghulam Farid Sabri’s 23rd death anniversary being observed today

KARACHI: The 23rd death anniversary of renowned Qawwal Ghulam Farid Sabri is being observed on Wednesday (today).

His first public performance was at the annual Urs festival of the Sufi saint Mubarak Shah in Kalyana in 1946.

Ghulam Farid Sabri along with his brother Maqbool Sabri were known as the Sabri Brothers and earned much praise in Qawwali.

Mera Koi Nahin Hai Tere Siwa, Bhardo Jholi Meri Ya Muhammad and Taajdar-e-Haram, are some of their most acclaimed qawwalis.

Ghulam Farid Sabri, died on this day in 1994 in Karachi.
