Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Zarin Riaz termed the appointment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inspector general of police against the merit and called upon the government to decide the matter as per the seniority list.
In a statement, she said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf believed in supremacy of merit and rule of law and appointing junior officers on senior position would ultimately tarnish the image of the party. She added that there were clear cut rules of the Supreme Court which were needed to be abided.
He mentioned that the appointment of the incumbent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IG was illegal and against the merit as there were senior officers in grade 21.
The incumbent inspector general of police has been appointed in Grade 20 and his appointment has been challenged by the former acting IGP Syed Akhtar Ali Shah.
