Presiding over a meeting of managers of 16 working women’s hostels here on Monday, Punjab Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed ud Din said that more hostels would be established in the province.
The meeting reviewed in detail the progress of working women’s hostels across Punjab. Women Development Department Director Tahir Ali briefed the meeting regarding the provision of missing facilities, repair and rehabilitation work of hostel buildings, administrative affairs, and other problems in detail.
The managers of working women’s hostels established in Lahore, DG Khan, Vehari, Gujranwala, Muzaffargarh, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha and Rahim Yar Khan apprised the chair about the existing capacities, repair, maintenance, and missing facilities at the hostels. Repair work has been started in the hostels, it was learnt. The minister directed officials to review the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and fill the vacant posts accordingly. She further directed that inspections of the hostels be carried out every quarter.
