There is a serious shortage of police personnel at the police stations of city.
A summary was forwarded to Punjab government for increasing the number of police personnel at police stations but it was rejected.
The Punjab government has also reduced the number of personnel after rejecting the summary.
Rawalpindi Police were having 9500 police personnel, after the move taken by Punjab government, the number declined to 8500 in the division. Around 500 police personnel have been deployed in various district courts. Around 30 police stations are functioning in Rawalpindi.
Total 400 police personnel are deputed at police station, who are performing their duties. Every police station in Rawalpindi is facing 50 to 60 percent shortage of staff.
