The recent increase in the prices of petroleum products has been challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The petitioner Judicial Activism Panel Chairman Azhar Siddiq filed a miscellaneous application in LHC, stating that government has increased the prices of petroleum products without any justification.
The miscellaneous application added that prices of petroleum products are low in the international market, while in Pakistan the prices are being enhanced.
The applicant raised an objection that prices of petroleum products should be decreased in Pakistan also, and prayed the court that recent increase should be declared null and void.
