Inspector General of Sindh police Allah Dino Khawaja has reportedly refused to leave office after Sindh government issued notification for him to surrender his services on Friday.

Even without waiting for the approval of the federal government, the provincial government issued another statement on Saturday stating that Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti has been appointed as the acting IG of Sindh.

Responding to this, A.D. Khawaja refused to leave the IG Office before the issuance of a notification by the federal government.

The top cop reportedly took the stance that he was appointed by the federation and won’t leave charge until asked by the centre.

According to the Sindh police, the officer had even taken charge of the temporary appointment.

The Sindh government had written to Islamabad for replacing the IGP and recommended the names of Sardar Abdul Majeed, Ghulam Qadir Thebo and Khadim Hussain Bhatti for the post.

Majeed is a Grade-21 officer of Police Services of Pakistan, presently posted as Additional IGP, Research Development, Inspections and Enquiries. Thebo, another G-21 PSP officer, is holding the office of chairman, Enquiries and Anti-corruption Establishments, while Bhatti is Additional IG Traffic.

  1. Sindh is being governed like Bilawal House. This also proves that Mr Zardari has no dignity.
