‘2017 is year of completion of commitments made to people’

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that 2017 is a year of completion of commitments made to the people. The pivot of politics of the PML-N is selfless service to the people, he added.

He said that people have rejected the elements levelling baseless allegations at every level and there would only be politics of service; no room for levelling allegations in the country. The chief minister said, “Our commitments are with the people and PM Nawaz Sharif will continue to serve them as long as he is alive.”

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of PML-N, here today. He said that resources are trust of the nation and would be utilised for providing facilities to the people. He said the elements levelling baseless allegations against public welfare projects are an enemy of progress and prosperity of masses, and the rapidly developing Pakistan is unacceptable to some of these political elements.

He said that new records of development and transparency have been set during the last four years under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif. “The speed with which these projects were being completed is simply matchless during the last 70 years,” he added.

The defeated elements should realise the interest of the nation, he said, adding that former rulers of Punjab carried out mega corruption in the name of projects during the dictatorship era. Instead of solving problems of the people, he said, they increased these problems with their plunder.

He said that the politics of transparency and public service has always defeated the politics of negativity and allegations, and the conscientious people would badly defeat the elements opposing public welfare and development in the general elections of 2018. These elements, he said, remained unsuccessful in the past and will continue doing so in the future as well. On the hand, the government of PML-N will continue its journey of selfless public service under the leadership of PM Nawaz Sharif.
