A Pakistani photography website has announced that it will receive photographs for two international photography competitions till April 15.

The live worldwide competitions were simultaneously launched early this month through stock photography website TalkingClicks, a press release said here on Friday, providing a rare opportunity to Pakistani photographers to showcase their work.

According to the website’s Chief Executive Saqib Rizvi, entry into the competitions was free of cost.

This is the first time that the Pakistani stock-photography network has announced live competitions so that the professional and upcoming photographers can get due recognition for their hard work.

This is also for their encouragement and introducing them at the international level.

The first competition is for upcoming and amateur photographers whose work will be evaluated and judged through online voting, while the second competition has been designed for professional photographers whose worth will be evaluated by a panel of judges for awarding cash prizes around $300.

The results will be updated at the website as and when the judges decide the winners after going through each submission.

Saqib Rizvi assured that transparency will be maintained in the whole process to pick out the best photographers.

The competitors will be required to showcase their photograph on the website before the scheduled date.

Such an initiative gives opportunities to the photography community in the country to demonstrate their talents as well as to promote Pakistan’s soft image abroad.

Since the launching of the website, there was an overwhelming response from various circles of society, the chief executive added.

Aspiring competitors may contact TalkingClicks by phone as well. The website is a hub which promotes photographers, upcoming models, voice-over artists, makeup artists, illustrators, graphic designers, art directors, digital artists, calligraphers, and other creative people who possess talent but don’t have an online platform to exhibit it.

Previously, photographers were compelled to use stock photography websites which exploited them by giving only 20% to 30% of the selling price and took 70% to 80% for themselves.

Young photographers were very much dejected and photography in youth was limited to only wedding coverage due to no charm in the true art of photography. Due to this, millions of pictures never got proper coverage nor were they properly available for sale.

A few photographers tried to create Facebook pages and websites but due to the unavailability of proper traffic and funding, they were not successful.

The newly introduced website is offering all photographers to sell their pictures and get 100% of the sales price. This is the first time ever in the history that any website is offering 100% of the product profits to its members, encouraging photographers and giving confidence to the youth to stand on their own and keep the art of photography alive.
