Karachi University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ajmal Khan has said that in the contemporary era of competition it is not possible to neglect the importance of latest technology.
Speaking at the Computer Competition Week at the Shaikh Zayed Islamic Centre on Friday, he said that our young generation must be well versed in the field of modern technology and computer because it is imperative to achieve the development goals. Information technology and internet has globalised the whole world making it a global village, he added.
The VC impressed that it is the dire need to promote the modern tools of research and technology which will open new avenues of success in the modern age.
Pakistani youth must get familiar with the modern technology and studies to play a pivotal role in the national development and prosperity.
KU Social Sciences Dean Muhammad Ahmed Qadri, who is also the acting dean of faculty of Islamic studies, expressing his views said that the graduates of this centre will be on key positions of power in Pakistan and abroad since they are enlightened with the knowledge of not only Islamic culture but the latest technology.
They will succeed in their practical lives because they are well versed in modern day technology and will prove to be an asset to the nation.
SZIC Acting director Dr Abida Perveen briefed the vice chancellor on the ongoing research activities of the centre and added that SZIC is providing Islamic studies and developing their expertise in modern tools of science and technology.
The vice chancellor also distributed shields among the students.
