KARACHI: Pakistan Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq gave his backing to ODI and T20I captain Sarfraz Ahmed saying that the wicketkeeper-batsman had been handling captaincy really well and is taking the right decisions for the team.

“Sarfraz is a great captain and has been taking very good decisions for the team. He needs to be allowed to grow and given confidence,” said the 43-year-old was speaking at the official unveiling of the 2017 International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy at the National Stadium of Karachi.

Misbah also said that Pakistan should do everything they can to wrap up the T20I series in today’s match. “This is a golden opportunity for Pakistan to win the T20I series. We are 1-0 up and can certainly wrap up the series,” he said. “The win will increase the confidence of the team which has been shaken by the spot-fixing scandal.”
