KARACHI: 5 Corps Commander Lt Gen Shahid Baig Mirza, who is also DHA Executive Board President, on Thursday, visited the DHA City Karachi (DCK).
DCK is an upcoming residential project on Super Highway, which is being expeditiously developed in accordance with the contemporary engineering and urban planning concepts.
On arrival, the corps commander was received by DHA Administrator Brig Shahid Hassan Ali.
The commander visited various project sites in the DHA City where development work was going on in full swing and appreciated the pace and quality of development works and the pioneering role of DHA in building a planned, sustainable and smart city unique of its kind in the county.
He appreciated the efficacy, vision and development strategy of DCK and said that DHA City has all the potential to provide an ambience of modern, secure and comfortable living to its residents.
The corps commander inaugurated a 1.1 MW state-of-the-art solar power pilot project in DCK.
He commended the energy smart initiative and stressed on the need of conservation of power and use of an alternate source of renewable energy to overcome the shortage of electric in the country.
The corps commander termed the ongoing development activities in DHA City as reassuring which he said substantiate the credibility of DHA as a trendsetter in the field of development and town planning.
