Shadab Khan likely to be given test cap

LAHORE: 19-year-old Shadab Khan might be selected in a three-match Test series against the West Indies after having a sensational Twenty20 (T20) debut against West Indies.

Shadab Khan picked up three wickets for just seven runs on his T20 debut with an economy rate of just 1.75 and possesses a wonderful googly action. He was also declared man of the match in his first match.

Pakistan T20 and one-day international (ODI) captain Sarfraz Ahmed praised the young cricketer who represented Islamabad United in recently held Pakistan Super League (PSL).

According to reports, he might be given a test hat if he keeps performing well.  Also, that the selection committee wanted to see how well Shadab Khan could handle the pressure of international cricket.

Reportedly, Indian batting coach summoned a team meeting after the first T20 to get the hang of Shadab Khan’s bowling by watching his videos. The coach has also advised all players to closely monitor his bowling themselves.
