OGHI: Police officers arrested 11 members of jirga along with Nikkah Khawan in a Vani case in Oghi’s Mulhar village.
According to details, the suspects are accused of declaring two girls as Vani and trying to perform their marriages against their will. Station House Officer said the locals of Rahmkot illegally detained Mohammad Naeem on Sunday night accusing him of being involved in suspicious activities.
He said that jirga decided that one of the girls involved would marry Naeem whereas his sister will marry another one of Rahmkot’s locals to settle an honour-related case.
Arriving at the scene, police arrested jirga members Imran, Abdul Karim, Ali, Saeed, Shahnawaz, Ejaz, Shabbir, Abdul Aziz, Fazal, Maqbool, Zia, Irshad, Munir, Rizwan, Faiz, Shfique, Imran, Sadhir, Tahir and Munir whereas five suspects managed to escape.
