LAHORE: According to reports, Mohammed Irfan has decided not to challenge the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decision regarding the Notice of Charge that was handed over to him.

As per the details, Irfan has taken this decision to avoid going to the tribunal handling the ongoing spot-fixing investigation. According to reports, Mohammad Irfan will submit his written statement to PCB on Tuesday following the charge sheet that accuses him of violating clause number 2.4.4 of PCB code of conduct twice. The fast bowler will not be sent to the tribunal if he accepts the allegations that have been made against him, and disciplinary committee of PCB itself will decide his future.

Mohammed Irfan might face a six-month ban from cricket after today’s proceedings.

The left-arm bowler admitted in his initial statement that he was contacted by the bookies five times and he could not inform the PCB anti-corruption unit (ACU) about this matter owing to the stress that he was under due to the death of his parents.

Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Shahzaib Hasan and Nasir Jamshed have also been provisionally suspended over alleged spot-fixing by PCB.
