Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday took notice of the extraordinary increase in prices of eatables and sought a report from the concerned authorities.
Chairing a high-level meeting of the provincial cabinet, the chief minister Punjab directed officials to find out the reasons behind the price hike and to bring back the prices back down after necessary actions. It is vital to mention here that prices of daily-used items like chicken, tomatoes, and vegetables increased across the country, including Punjab, prompting the opposition to criticise the current government.
