ISLAMABAD: The shortage of censor inspectors is creating hurdles in the inspection of the films being screened in cinemas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Film Censor Board, is a sub-organisation of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and at present, three Film Inspectors are working in the board, while four films inspectors seat are lying vacant at the moment.
According to sources, with the seats lying vacant in Pakistan Film Censor Board, most of the films showcased in various cinemas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have not been inspected as.
An official, on condition of anonymity, said that the department has been facing a lot of difficulties in inspecting the films due to a shortage of staff; hence, films in all the cinemas are not fully inspected. According to the rules of Pakistan Film Censor Board, the hiring of film inspectors should be made in a line of film cinemas found the region, so that censor certificate permission could be given to films after being inspected.
As per rules, action can be taken against the cinema owner or cinema can be sealed if any film is being exhibited without obtaining a censor certificate.
