SHC seeks comments from Rangers, police in missing person case

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notices to the Interior Ministry secretary, home secretary and provincial chiefs of law enforcement agencies on a petition seeking whereabouts of the chief executive officer of a private advertisement agency who has allegedly been missing since March 14 this year.

While taking up the petition filed by Hijab Bibi, the mother of missing Nadeem Ejaz, a division bench, headed by Justice Syed Muhammad Farooq Shah, also directed the Rangers director general, Sindh police inspector general, federal and provincial law officers and Shahrah-e-Faisal SHO to file their respective replies on the whereabouts of the missing person within two weeks.

The woman petitioner informed the court that her son was engaged in private business and was never involved in any political activity.

She added that Ejaz left his house in his car on March 14 but did not return and now there is no clue for him or his car.

“We are unaware about my son since the day of his missing. The whole family is in unrest and going through mental agony in his absence. We have also approached the concerned police station to trace Ejaz but to no avail,” she added.

The mother of missing man prayed the court to direct the respondents to produce her son before the court and disclose the reason for his arrest.
