Former governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that merit, good governance and justice have disappeared from the country. “Rule of law and the supremacy of the constitution are essential for the country,” he added.

He said that a weak system of accountability was producing chaos and anarchy in the country. Real democracy and free and fair accountability is the need of the hour, he said.

The former governor stated this while speaking to various delegations in his office on Saturday. Progress and development is not possible without the eradication of corruption, he added.
