WASHINGTON: A function was held at Pakistan Embassy in United States capital Washington on account of Pakistan Day.
The function started with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran whereas the Pakistan flag was also hoisted at the Embassy on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Ambassador the United States Aizaz Chaudhry said that Pakistan Day reminds the Pakistani nation of maintaining the democratic system.
“The war against terrorism is continuing successfully in the country,” Chaudhry said.
He said, “Pakistan is heading towards the path of stability and peace. The country’s economy is stabilizing at a quick pace.”
Chaudhry also read the read the Pakistan Day message of President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during the ceremony.
The Pakistani community of Washington was also present on the occasion.
