ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court has dismissed civil society’s plea seeking transfer of case at native province’s local court and has decided that it will go ahead with the hearing of Tayyaba torture case.

According to details, Justice Amir Farooq said that IHC is authorised to hear it as per law and so the case is not going to be sent to a lower court.

Civil society requested in the petition that the case should be forwarded to the court of another province as additional session judge was involved in it.

Victim’s lawyer has said that Raja Khurram will influence the IHC’s. Subsequently, the court rejected the appeal and decided to hear the case by itself.

Earlier, the court sought formal written statement from Tayyaba’s father regarding forgiving the accused for beating his daughter and confirmed their interim bails.
