‘Govt fully committed to strengthening economic and industrial foundations’

 

Punjab Minister for Cooperatives Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar has said that Pakistan Day warrants to pledge again to fully adhere to the vision of founding fathers by mobilizing all available resources to turn Pakistan into a liberal, progressive and modern welfare state.

He made these remarks while speaking as a chief guest at a ceremony held in connection with “Pakistan Day” organized by district administration, at the auditorium of Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur, here.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal, MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti, MPA Fouzia Ayub Qureshi, MPA Haseena Naz, Bahawalpur Mayor Aqeel Najam Hashmi, District Council Chairman Shaikh Dilshad Ahmad, District Police Officer Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, Assistant Commissioner Rao Tasleem Akhter, District Regional Transport Authority Secretary Muhammad Tayyab, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rauf, students of various educational institutions, teachers, government employees, civil society representatives and a large number of notables related to different walks of life.

“Pakistan Day stands as defining moment in the history of Muslims of subcontinent when through Pakistan resolution a new political and constitutional struggle was launched to establish an ideological Muslim state”, Provincial Minister Iqbal Channar noted.

He further said that under the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-AZam Muhammad Ali Jinnah dream of creating a new Muslim state turned into a living reality when Pakistan came into being just in 7 years democratic and political struggle as the first ever ideological state on the map of the world.

“Under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Pakistan was rapidly making progress which would pave the way for sustainable peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Pakistan”, Channar noted.

Channar further said that it was our collective responsibility to extend state-of-the-art facilities to our youth to impart them modern knowledge and equip them with the latest technology which would enable them to shape the destiny of the nation. He hoped that our talented, energetic and dedicated youth would play their role with dedication and commitment to perform their duties to meet the future socio economic challenges by making Pakistan a strong and vibrant modern state. He paid rich tribute to the services of former Nawab of Bahawalpur who provided financial, moral and political support to the nascent Muslim state which enabled our founding fathers to meet the socio economic challenges at the inception of our motherland.

Bahawalpur DC Rana Saleem Afzal said that Pakistan’s creation was a political miracle. He further said that under the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah our forefathers’ democratic struggle created our homeland.

MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti said that Pakistan Muslim League has the unique honour to be the creator of Pakistan. She further said that Pakistan Muslim League under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was fully committed to strengthen Pakistan’s economic and industrial foundations which would enable it to extend state of the art health and educational cover to the Pakistani people.

Bahawalpur Mayor Aqeel Najam Hashmi maintained that our identity was linked with our motherland. He further said that it was our collective responsibility to pledge on this historic day to play our role to accelerate the pace of socio economic development.
