LAHORE: Investigators reveal that Sharjeel Khan played two dot balls in Pakistan Super League for the bookies.
All the five suspended players – Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Irfan, Shahzaib Hasan and Nasir Jamshed – who were charged with contacting bookies in the recently concluded PSL, lied in the inquiry and denied these allegations.
However, the tainted players have now confessed to playing dot-balls. “Sharjeel has confessed that he played two dot balls that he had sold to bookies,” according to reports.
He said Shahzaib was also in contact with bookies, adding that the player is also guilty of inciting other colleagues for fixing. Hasan was charged on three counts and suspended from participating in all forms of cricket.
It was also reported that Latif and Irfan’s contacts with bookies have also been confirmed by the investigators.
