The federal government has continuously neglected Sindh province but the situation has gotten worst under the current government which is a complete disgrace.

These views were expressed by Pakistan Peoples’ Party Sindh Information Secretary Senator Aajiz Dhamrah on Thursday.

On the occasion, PPP General Secretary Haji Sain Bux Jamali, Fida Hussain, Mandhro, Khan Sahib Jamali, Danial Abro and others were also present.

A feeling of deprivation and inferiority complex is on a rise among the people of Sindh as the government is paying no heed to the problems faced by people of the province, Dhmarah said.

“The prime minister suddenly remembers the province and its problems as the general elections are near”, he added.

Dhamrah said that Sharif government had also announced the schemes worth billions in the past but they failed to keep their end of the bargain and has now lost the trust of the people.

The federal government continues to delay announcing of the National Finance Commission (NFC) award for the provinces which is their constitutional right, he added.

Dhamrah said that if the federal government was seriously working for the progress of the province it would not have reduced the budget reserved for the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) projects for Sindh.

Dhamrah, while expressing displeasure over the unfair carrying out of the census, said that “the behaviour of the federal government, regarding the census, towards the province, is prejudicial”.

He assured that the PPP would monitor the whole process so that accurate results of the census could be achieved.

He said that he had met the family of kidnapped engineer Ayaz Ali Jamali on the directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and assured that the PPP would take every possible measure for his return.

Dhamrah urged the government to take an immediate diplomatic effort with South Sudan for his release.

Engineer Ayaz Ali Jamali, a resident of Badin, was kidnapped by rebels from Riek Macchar group in South Sudan.
