COAS thanks army jawans, participating countries for making parade a success

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday paid tribute to brave soldiers of the country on the occasion of the Pakistan Day parade held at Shakarparian Parade Ground in Islamabad, and thanked the defence forces of China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and South Africa for participation in the parade.

“You are our heroes; your sacrifices shall not go to waste. We owe our peace and independence to you,” the COAS said addressing brave soldiers of the country, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations.

The army chief also congratulated participants and spectators for making the ceremony a success. The COAS said Pakistan enjoyed a significant place in the comity of nations. “We are a peaceful country.” He also vowed to clean Pakistan from “fasaadis”, saying the country would remain steadfast against its enemies.
