Provincial Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheeduddin has said that Pakistani women are playing an active role in the progress and prosperity of the country.
She was talking to UN-Women Undersecretary and Executive Director Phumizila Mlambo Ngcuka in New York on Wednesday. The minister is currently in New York to attend the 61st session of the UN on the Status of Women.
The minister apprised the executive director regarding various initiatives of the Punjab government for the welfare of the masses. “No country can make socio-economic progress without including women in the path to development and prosperity”, the minister said
Dr Phumizila Mlambo Ngcuka welcomed the minister to the session and highly appreciated the measures taken by the Punjab Government for the empowerment and protection of women and assured her all-out support for women empowerment.
