Senate body seeks reply from CADD on matter of NARC land

Senate Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges on Wednesday sought reply from the Ministry of Capital Administration and Development (CADD) for not implementing the recommendations of committee on the matter of proposed conversion of 1400 acres of NARC land.

The committee met here at Parliament Lodges under the chairmanship of Senator Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini.

Members of the committee included Senator Syed Muzafar Hussain Shah, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Nasar, Saeed Ghani and Senator Farhatullah Babar.

CADD secretary sought one month time to resolve the issue of the NARC land, saying that a letter has been written to government in light of court orders.

The committee also took up the issue of degrees verification in the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

Senior officials of the Civil Aviation informed the committee that out of 16,980 degrees, they have verified 13,470 degrees of employees so far.

They further informed that 130 degrees were found fake and their services have been terminated as per rules, adding that nine employees reinstated by the Court and 51 got stay orders.
