Mardan celebrates World Water Day

Mardan: The World water day was observed in Mardan on Wednesday under the theme of ‘why waste water?’  which was about reducing and reusing of wastewater.

In Mardan, the  water and sanitation company and the non-government organisations jointly organised a seminar to highlight the water issues.

Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif khan was the chief guest on the ocassion, while WSSC Cheif Executive Officer Nasir Ghaffor, Tehsil Naizm Muhammad Ayub Khan and Naib-nazim Mushtaq Seemab also attended the seminar.

Muhammad Atif khan told participants that PTI government is committed to allocating drinking water supply schemes on need basis.

Nasir Ghaffor said that company would soon rehabilitate the waste water treatment plants and with help of Asian Development Bank, they would instal a plant where waste water could be treated before its being released in river.

He added that the wasted water is a valuable resource and with the help of this we can achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
