ISLAMABAD: Fuel-free electric bikes or E-bikes are all set to hit the roads for the first time in Pakistan in coming months.
E-bikes are fully electric, which means they do not require petrol or any other fuel and run up to 80-100km with rechargeable batteries. The charging of the battery takes 6-8 hours with a cost of Rs20/charge.
Recently, a firm based out of Bahria Town Rawalpindi Jolta International displayed three e-bikes in Gwadar.
Other features of E-bike include alarm and automatic locking system, keyless start, disc brakes and a digital meter.
Jolta International officials said that locals can purchase E-bikes according to their demands as they will be available in three models E 70, E 100 and E125 with different prices.
The manufacturing companies said that these bikes are environment-friendly, smoke-free and without noise.
