Chief Census Commissioner Asif Bajwa said on Wednesday that the first phase of Census 2017, comprised of 63 districts, will be completed in one month, while the next phase will be started from April 25.
Talking to a private news channel, the commissioner said the special codes have been assigned to disable persons and transgender in the form of census in order to identify the nature and cause of disability.
He said from March 28 the record of homeless people will be collected. Bajwa said the family number will be the same as per NADRA records.
He explained two-storey buildings would be given one house listing number but on eve of counting population, if two separate families were residing, all would be counted. In case of multi-storey buildings then every flat will be included in house listing.
He said the stay at home women must keep the CNIC of head of the family with them and they can also answer about the general questions asked by the census staff.
