KARACHI: The Rangers claim to have recovered a huge cache of arms and weapons on Tuesday belonging to a political party.
The recovered arms and ammunitions belonged to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London and were recovered from Go Aish, an adventure park.
“The Rangers received information about the presence of a huge cache of arms and ammunitions dumped at an adventure park – Go Aish – located within Safari Park,” disclosed the Rangers’ spokesperson.
“The huge cache of weapons was dumped under the supervision of Inbisat Malik, the son-in-law of MQM-London’s key leader Muhammad Anwar,” he said.
The weapons were dumped at a store of the park’s ticket house. The recovered weapons included a light machinegun (LMG), 16 sub-machineguns (SMGs), two repeaters, six 7mm rifles, three rifles, two M-16 rifles, one MP-5 rifle, four hand grenades, 10 ball bombs, one telescope and 100 rounds of ammunition. The spokesperson said that the recovered weapons were used in terrorist activities in the city.
Cases were registered and further investigation is under way.
