LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Tuesday moved a resolution against Pakistan Cricket Board executive committee chairman for questioning Federal Investigation Agency’s investigation into Pakistan Super League corruption scandal.
PTI’s Member Provincial Assembly Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui filed the petition which states that the PCB chairman released a statement in which he said that the FIA should not interrogate the players who are allegedly involved in spot-fixing.
The resolution says it is PCB’s weakness that a person who was involved in political ‘punctures’ is now controlling the cricket board.
It has been said that putting the names of suspected cricketers on exit control list (ECL) will help the investigation. Furthermore, the petition said that the chairman wants the FIA to keep out of this investigation to save himself.
Five national players are provisionally suspended by PCB over alleged spot-fixing in PSL 2 including Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Shahzaib Hasan, Mohammad Irfan and Nasir Jamshed.
