PGMI holds 7th annual scientific symposium

Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Board of Management Member and Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, Afzaal Bhatti on Tuesday said that the PGMI was a unique seat of quality learning in the field of medical research and training.

He was speaking on the inaugural session of the 7th Annual Scientific Symposium 2017 held here at General Hospital.

Congratulating the organisers on arranging an informative event, Afzaal Bhatti said that the symposium would help groom junior doctors to become better clinicians in the future. He said that the PGMI had tremendous potential to deliver excellent services. He further said that Punjab government was pursuing a vigorous policy to improve provincial health facilities.

Addressing the ceremony, PGMI Principal Ghais-ud-Nabi Tayyab said that PGMI was the mother of most of the country’s medical research institutions and had produced a large number of renewed specialists. He further said that holding of the 7th annual symposium in a row was a great achievement and that it would go a long way in imparting the latest medical techniques to young doctors.

Later on, Bhatti, Dr Ghais-Un-Nabi Tayyab, Dr Agha Shabbir Ali, and others took a round of a poster exhibition arranged by the students.
