Supreme Court suspends Sind high court’s decision to ban alcohol

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan suspended Sindh High Court’s decision regarding the ban on alcohol in Sind. 

Supreme Court has directed to implement 1979 law and act accordingly and to put the case in front of the three-member bench for further proceedings.

Earlier, SHC had ordered to close bars selling alcohol across the province and banned 120 liquor vendors. The SHC had also instructed the authorities to do away with all alcohol production activities until a proper decision was finalised.
