Punjab Revenue Authority Chairman Dr Raheel Ahmed Siddique has said that those beauty salons which voluntarily register themselves with the beauty parlour invoice monitoring system (BIMS) will be taxed at a lower rate of 5% instead of 16%.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting with the representatives of the Pakistan Beauty Parlour Association. They discussed the method of using the BIMS and its placement procedure at salons.

The chairman told the meeting that the tax will be automatically paid as the receipt would cut without any discrepancy.

He further said that there would be no exemptions for anyone and that service providers will be gradually inducted into the tax net. The chairman added that the revenue authority always tries to provide relief for businesses and they in turn should also fulfil their responsibilities towards the authority.

To encourage more people to participate in the process, the Punjab Revenue Authority will introduce a reward scheme for BIMS users.

The members of the association appreciated the chairman’s efforts for provincial resource mobilization and assured him their full cooperation.
