HYDERABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Sunday paid a surprise visit to the Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine in Sehwan.
The CM warned the government officials of disciplinary action in case of delayed restoration works and tightening of security arrangements.
The chief minister visited the shrine to take stock of the situation in the aftermath of the February 16 terrorist attack at the shrine which claimed 90 lives and injured 350 others.
“Ensuring security of the devotees visiting the shrine is our top priority,” he said.
He expressed dismay to the local officials responsible for the shrine’s security and directed them to address the same to avoid punitive action.
Shah also scolded the Works and Services and Auqaf departments’ officials for a delay in the renovations of the shrine.
Earlier, the CM laid chaddar and offered fateha at the shrine.
