LONDON: Chairman of England and Wales Cricket Board has said on Sunday that former Pakistani skipper Imran Khan’s statement about foreign players is insulting.
In an interview, Colin Graves expressed his concerns over Imran Khan’s statement after Pakistan Super League 2017 concluded in Lahore earlier this month.
He said that Khan’s statement regarding Darren Sammi and Dawid Malan who arrived in Lahore for the final match of the PSL was ‘disparaging’.
Khan’s statement that targeted all the foreign players who had arrived in Pakistan for the league attracted a lot of flak for the chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
In a video that was claimed as an off-the-record conversation with a journalist, Khan was seen stating that “I don’t know even the name of any of these so-called foreign players. It seems to me that they have been caught from here and there, some caught from Africa to tell us that they are foreign players. We don’t know who these people are.”
Graves said that foreign players who arrived in Lahore deserved respect and appreciation and no insults for playing the final match despite security concerns.
Administration of PSL and Pakistan Cricket Board successfully organised the match in Pakistan despite concerns internationally.
Foreign players of Quetta Gladiators including Kevin Pietersen refused to come to Pakistan and the cricket board substituted them with other international players.
English Board Chairman must be told to stop poking his filthy nose in other country affairs. This is 2017 and only PM has property and pounds in London not other Pakistanis.
