Islamabad: The backdoor contacts between the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were still going on as the PML-N has withdrawn its demand for formation of the parliamentary commission on the matter of Hussain Haqqani, it was revealed.
As per media reports, the distance between the both parties was being reduced as the contacts were going on regarding the prevailing political situation of the country and other affairs.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari commenting on this issue said that if the parliamentary commission is formed on the matter of Hussain Haqqani then parliamentary commissions should be formed in all cases from 1999; however, both parties’ leaders have shown consensus to adopt a policy of reconciliation in this regard.
The PML-N has withdrawn the demand of parliamentary commission on Hussain Haqqani issue, and Speaker NA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has handed the matter over to the standing committee.
