Indian police arrested Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik in Srinagar on Saturday.
The authorities have already put Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Mukhtar Ahmed Wazaand Ayaz Akbar under house arrest, a private TV channel reported.
The All Parties Hurriyet Conference in a statement in Srinagar strongly denounced the arrest and house detention of pro-freedom leaders terming it the frustration of the authorities.
Senior Hurriyet leader Professor Abdul Ghani Butt said in Kulgam that settlement of the Kashmir dispute is essential for ensuring peace and development in the region.
He called upon India to understand ground realities, shun confrontation and find ways and means for the resolution of this lingering dispute.
