Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday inaugurated the second phase of the population census by providing details of his family members to census staff at his residence in Model Town.
Inaugurating the second phase of the census, the chief minister said that the census was preparation for a better future. After completion of the first phase of house count, the population count was begun.
The chief minister said that citizens should cooperate fully with the staff of the population count. They should perform their national duty by providing correct details of family members in their homes, he said. The chief minister said that the provision of correct information was very important for planning of the future.
Shehbaz Sharif thanked the census staff for performing their national duty in a befitting manner.
